Questions About Plans

Consultation Plan FAQs

Payment is requested after we receive your enquiry form and confirm we can address your specific itinerary. We issue an invoice via email accepting international bank transfer (SWIFT/IBAN), Wise, and PayPal. Payment is required before we begin work. We do not store card details or process payments through this website.
Yes. Groups of more than four travellers, academic research teams, and educational institution field trips can request a bespoke quote through the contact form. Group plans typically include additional notes on access permits required for extended site visits, coordination with site management, and separate notes for group leaders versus general participants. Please specify group size and any specialist interests in the enquiry form.
Yes, upgrades are available at any time before your travel dates. We apply the full fee already paid as credit toward the higher tier. Contact us by email referencing your original enquiry number and we will issue a supplementary invoice for the difference.
Date changes that do not significantly alter the season of travel (e.g., shifting by two to three weeks) typically require only minor updates to opening hours and crowd-management timing. We make these adjustments free of charge. If your dates shift by more than six weeks — particularly from winter to summer or vice versa — the itinerary may need substantial revision, which we handle on a case-by-case basis.
We do not arrange bookings, make reservations, or refer clients to specific tour guides, hotels, or operators. Doing so would compromise our editorial independence. Our guidance focuses on what to see, when to go, how to access sites, and how to understand what you encounter. Booking logistics remain the visitor's own responsibility, though we do indicate recommended accommodation zones (neighbourhoods, not specific hotels) in the Full Journey plan.
We recommend requesting your consultation plan at least six weeks before travel. This allows time for delivery, revisions, and any follow-up questions. During our peak request periods — October through December, when travellers are planning winter journeys — demand is high and lead times may extend to five working days. For Full Journey plans with a live support component, earlier is always better so we can familiarise ourselves with your specific interests before you depart.
How It Works

The Consultation Process

Our consultation process is designed to be straightforward and respectful of your time. We do not ask for extensive upfront documentation or require you to fill in lengthy qualification forms. A brief, clear enquiry telling us who you are, when you plan to travel, and what you are most interested in is sufficient to start the process.

Once we receive your enquiry, we read it and respond personally — typically within two working days. Our initial response will include a recommendation on which plan best fits your stated needs and a few clarifying questions if the enquiry leaves important variables unclear. We do not send automated acknowledgement emails that tell you nothing; our first reply is substantive and comes from a named team member.

After you confirm the plan and complete payment (by bank transfer, Wise, or PayPal), we begin work. Standard plan deliverables take two to three working days to complete. Explorer plans, which include a video call, are typically scheduled within one week of payment; the written itinerary is delivered within one to two days of the call so that the conversation can inform the document. Full Journey plans involve a longer preparation period — typically five to seven working days — because the document is more detailed and the on-trip support briefing requires specific preparation.

All deliverables are sent as PDF documents by email. If you prefer a different format (Word document for editing, plain text for accessibility), let us know when requesting your plan. We retain a copy of all deliverables for five years, so if you lose a document or need to access it during your trip, we can resend it promptly.

Why Pay for Expert Guidance?

Egypt's free information landscape — travel blogs, user reviews, official tourism websites — is vast but unreliable. Blog posts go stale within months as prices, access conditions, and presentation change. User reviews reflect individual experience that may or may not match your own interests and physical capacity. Official tourism websites are, by their nature, promotional and rarely acknowledge problems, temporary closures, or honest assessments of crowding and presentation quality.

The value of our consultation plans lies in the specificity and currency of the information we provide. We know, as of this month, which galleries in the Grand Egyptian Museum are temporarily closed for installation work. We know which tombs in the Valley of the Kings have significantly improved or deteriorated since the last major review in published guidebooks. We know which of the West Bank sites in Luxor is currently affected by ongoing excavation limiting the usual access route. And we know how to sequence your visit so that you see the most significant things first, in the best conditions, without arriving at a closed gate or standing in an hour-long queue that could have been avoided by arriving 45 minutes earlier.

For many visitors, a single day's experience at a major site is the product of months of anticipation, significant travel expense, and a limited time window that cannot easily be repeated. Getting that day right is worth the cost of expert guidance.

Not Sure Which Plan Fits?

Describe your trip in the enquiry form — destinations, length of stay, group composition, and primary interests — and we will recommend the most suitable service tier for your situation.
